Well I’m here…

In LA at least, waiting for my New York flight. The big flight left late from Melbourne but still arrived at LAX on schedule at 7:30am. All up it took around 13 hours.

The flight itself was pretty uneventful. Sat next to an elderly Canadian couple on their way back from holiday who didn’t move the entire flight!  When I sat down I figured the old dude would want to take a leak every 10 minutes, but to my surprise he stayed put. The new in flight entertainment things were pretty cool. Had a bunch of different shows/movies/music to choose from. Watched the new X-Files movie which I enjoyed. Followed that up some Arj Barker stand up, then slept through most of Indy 4 and The Dark Knight. Didn’t expect to sleep because it was only 7pmish in Melbourne but the growing dark outside coupled with my lack of sleep the night before knocked me out.

When I arrived there were no dramas at customs, no one looked at my laptop and my bag wasn’t opened by the TSA.

Upon leaving the international terminal 5 different people came up to me looking for money for their “charities” in exchange for local information. The first guy got 2 bucks Australian the rest got nothing. I worked out the if I navigated between the terminals via the Car Park no one bothered me.

LAX is pretty ordinary compared to Tullamarine. Everything is located passed the security checkpoints and each terminal has different stuff. First point of call was to find a can/bottle of Coke and do you think I could find one? It’s crazy considering they invented the stuff. Managed to change my money, each currency conversion place would only do $100. But I went to 4 of them and everything was taken care of ;)

I’m currently sitting in the Home Turf sports bar in Termial 6 at LAX, watching SportsCenter HD and drinking a Jack and Coke which I got carded for, go figure.

There’s some weather issues in New York at the moment so I’m not too sure what time I’ll get in, hopefully it will clear up before I get there. Will update again when I get to New York, internet permitting.

Great to hear you got to LA OK.

You have constantly been on my mind since you passed thru the execution doors at the airport.

Look forward to reading the next chapter in Craig’s (well I’ve finally done it) Adventure.

    Love Dad
